Teaching & Training

Experiential Legal Pedagogy

We believe legal training cannot be confined to theoretical textbooks. Our pedagogy emphasizes courtroom simulation, trial clinics, and case-law analysis.

Simulated Courtroom Trials

Students participate in mandatory simulated moot court exercises where they formulate issues, draft written memorials, and make oral arguments before bench panels.

Socratic Case Law Analysis

Classroom discourses dissect landmark constitutional, criminal, and civil verdicts from the Supreme Court and High Courts using the interactive Socratic method.

Mandatory Chamber Internships

Every student completes vacation apprenticeships in District Courts, High Court advocate chambers, DLSA cells, and corporate legal departments.

Academic Governance

Regulations & Examination System

As per Bar Council of India (BCI) rules and Karnataka State Law University statutes, students must secure a minimum of 70% attendance in all curricular lectures, clinical papers, and practical courtroom simulations to be eligible for university semester examinations.

Evaluation comprises Continuous Internal Assessment (including preparatory tests, drafting assignments, and attendance regularities) and end-of-semester written university theory examinations administered by KSLU.

In final semesters, students must maintain comprehensive practical journals recording court attendance, trial observations, drafting of legal pleadings/conveyances, and pre-trial client counseling interviews.
